Mirror Uses

Mirror use hints and tips
A mirror can be used in a variety of ways depending on the room to create an effect or finish that really finishes off a room, adds that certain effect or gives you the finish you require. Below we have detailed some handy hints and tips to help you decide how to use a mirror in a room:

Oak bathroom mirror
Traditionally a bathroom mirror is placed close to the sink area as rather than create a look in a room it will be used to fulfil a purpose, this however does not mean that it cannot create or complete a certain look. If you are thinking of using an oak mirror in the bathroom then you may want to make sure than it is not too close to where it can get overly wet. By treating the wood with wax often this will help seal and protect the wood from water residue.

Oak bedroom mirror
An Oak mirror in a bedroom can come in a variety of forms, whether that be a large wall mirror, tall full length mirror, dressing table mirror or a free standing Oak cheval mirror. Obviously each will have its own purpose and fit into the room in a different way and a lot will depend on the style and size of the room you are looking to use it in. If you have a large room already then a Oak cheval mirror can be a great addition to a room and looks like a piece of furniture in its own right, if space is limited on the other hand then a full length mirror or large wall mirror placed corrected on a wall can provide both functionality and additional light to a bedroom. It is also a great way to compliment existing furniture in the room and ideal if you already have furniture such as Oak cabinets, chest of drawers or wardrobes.

Oak Living room mirror
A large oak mirror in a living room maybe above a fireplace or against the largest wall in the room can really add to the feel and look of the room much in the way a large picture can be used and of course the mirror can still be used for as it should be, to check your appearance or manage your hair. If you already have other Oak furniture in the room such as dining tables, sideboards, an oak cupboard or corner tv units the addition of an Oak mirror can really complement the existing furniture and set the room off. By adding a light source close the mirror such as a tall standing lamp you can spread the light around the room to great effect and reduce the need for multiple light sources.

Hallway
By adding a mirror to a narrow hallway you can increase the appearance of the hall and make it feel wider than it actually is, also if you are lacking in natural light by adding it to a wall you can bounce the light around the room and make the room feel and look brighter.
